The history of Russo Picciurro Maloy (RPM), and
the entities from which we were formed, spans over
100 collective years. The Russo-Picciurro Agency
was formed in 1976 with the merger of The Russo
Agency, founded in 1926 by James Russo and The
Picciurro Agency, founded in 1962 by Frank Picciurro,
Sr. Prior to the 1976 merger the two Staten Island
firms were affiliated through their combined ownership
of Joint Agencies, LTD, creating one of the first
insurance agency "cluster" operations in North
America. Through the 1980's and 1990's, the Russo-Picciurro
Agency grew predominantly through a mix of property
and casualty business with concentrations in select,
main street type commercial business and personal
lines. Our strong agency relationships grew with
Aetna Casualty & Surety Company, The Travelers
and Excelsior Insurance Company.
In 1998 Russo-Picciurro Agency, LLC acquired the
insurance operations of Frank B. Sterner and Company,
Inc., which was founded on Staten Island, in 1913.
Frank B. Sterner & Company was a Staten Island
independent insurance agency with a reputation
of maintaining high standards of service to its
property and casualty clients. These operations
were merged into Russo-Picciurro Agency LLC in
May of 1998.
The Maloy Agency, Inc.,
which was founded in 1872 and was incorporated on
Staten Island in 1918, was acquired in 1999. At the
time of its acquisition The Maloy Agency, Inc. was
one of the largest and most respected independent
insurance agencies in the New York metropolitan region.
Its business involved a large personal lines property
and casualty operation and a substantial commercial
middle market property and casualty department. The
Maloy Agency successfully represented, among others,
Commercial Union, The St. Paul, Atlantic Mutual,
New York Central Mutual and Chubb. In September 1999,
their operations were merged into Russo-Picciurro
Agency LLC and the trade names Russo Picciurro Maloy
and RPM Insurance Agency were created.

RPM Insurance Agency has become the largest independent
insurance agency on Staten Island. We are proud

US and abroad.
